Want Me Wednesday

Today's Want Me Wednesday features are two pugs up for adoption through Pugalug Rescue of Canada. These two are such sweethearts and I know the perfect home for them is out there. If you are in the Toronto Area or know of a kind soul who is, please consider adopting one of both of these babies.

MooToo:

Mootoo's story:
Mootoo is a very people oriented dog. She is not interested in other dogs at all. Motto loves to snuggle up very close and gives great kisses..... all over your face and neck. She does not like to give up once she has started - often enjoying a little wrestle while wriggling on her back as you play- her little tail wags constantly as she plays with you. Mootoo never plays with the other dogs and would be far happier if they simply were not there. She is eating Innova Evo 1/3 cup morning and night with a teaspoon of wet food mixed in. The wet is usually grain-free as well but sometimes has some brown rice or barley and there are no problems with her diet. Mootoo has soft silky fur that is a pleasure to pat and snuggle into.
Mootoo is very gentle with people but can be aggressive with other dogs and would be best as an only dog. She is jealous of the others seeking attention and they likely startle her a bit if they come up suddenly on her "blind side". Mootoo has gotten in the tub with me on a couple of occasions - her choice simply climbing in uninvited, but sitting quietly and not minding the water. She hates having her nails trimmed, crying and carrying on something awful so her nails are often longer than one would like. Mootoo does not have any problems meeting new people or children but is small and rather delicately put together, smaller children being a bit rough could hurt her. She seems comfortable around them outside but prefers adults or older kids and is more responsive with them.

Mootoo is not excessively active in the house prefering to snuggle and play quietly while laying on or next to you on the couch. She really enjoys sleeping in the big bed with us, but would really like to not have the other dogs there. She likes to cuddle close under the covers. She likes to go for casual walks and is always ready to go outside with you. Mootoo is a very accommodating little girl in general, playing gently with you, cuddling quietly, never barks, walks nicely, not demanding and not crazy busy. She would be a wonderful girl for someone who wanted to spend quiet simple times with her giving her the attention she needs so much and having you all to herself. We generally take the dogs out for 4 or so walks a day for about 15 - 30 mins each. Mootoo likes to have "pee breaks" every few hrs and it would be best if she is not left home alone for too many hrs each day. She can certainly hold it for 3 or 4 hrs but 6 or 8 would be a stretch.

She would be happy laying at your feet all day if you worked at home. Mootoo is a real sweetheart for a special family to love her and make her feel secure.

Harley:

Harley's Story:
Harley is a beautiful male neutered 4 year old pug. He is very loving, happy, and affectionate. He is great with kids and other dogs. He is almost house trained but still has the odd accident. Harley sleeps on our bed. He can be a bit of a barker----when he is happy, wants to be fed, when he gets up in the morning on his way outside before breakkie.
He can't be crated at all. He gets very stressed. He also has a bit of separation anxiety. He can be a little aggressive around food and toys with other dogs. He is great with people. He is very social and wants to be where you are or hanging with the other dogs. Harley is getting very good at recalls too. He has a lot of potential for training. He is very athletic and would be great at agility

And speaking of Harley, my friend Amber U. adopted an adorable Pug mix named Harley this week from our local shelter. I am so happy for Harley and his new family. If you get a minute go leave her some love on her blog for choosing to rescue a dog (aka SAVE A LIFE!!!).
