New Car Pics!

I've had my car now for two weeks tomorrow and I'm just now getting around to posting pics. I should be ashamed!!

Oh well, at least I have a good excuse, poor Genie has been having a rough couple of weeks. First it was an ear infection, and now drama with her eye. She has an eye ulcer. I'm just sick about it. We are putting antibiotic ointment every 3 hours so please keep my girl in your prayers. Princess Gene-Gene is NOT amused!!

Want Me Wednesday

Know anybody in Arizona looking for that special companion?? Well have I got the pug for them!!! It's Louie the Pug/Boston Mix! He is a wonderful little fellow that a friend of mine over at Pug Village is fostering. Here is what APARN has to say about him:

Louie is an active pug/boston mix. He just turned 10 yrs old, and came to rescue when his family could no longer keep him due to a new baby. Louie uses the doggy door, gets along well with the other pugs in his foster home, and is overall a very good boy.

Please help us get the word out that Louie is ready and waiting for his forever family. If you are that person that Louie is waiting for please fill out an application today!

Scrapathalon Week #10 - Last One!

This was the final week of the scrapathalon! The theme was "Dream" and the technique to be used was weaving. Here's what I came up with:

The heart flips to reveal hidden journaling, "I dreamed of becoming a pug mom for years & when I adopted Genie she was everything I had hoped for and more."

I came in 3rd overall and won a $20 gift certificate to Scrapbook.com so I'm super stoked!! I have no clue what I'm going to order, but it will be fun picking something out!

Want Me Wednesday

Today's featured pug is Curly of Pugsavers Pug Rescue based out of Northern California. Here's what Pugsavers' website has to say about this handsome gent:

My name is Curly and I'm a handsome older gentleman. I had a loving mom and dad but my mom died a year ago, and then a few weeks ago my dad went in to hospice. I'm probably 8 to 10 years old and as you can see I got a bit "Fluffy" so I need to take off some weight (I weigh 26 pounds right now..yikes!) My temporary foster home says I am a real love, I want to be with people all the time, I get along with her girl pug and with her son, but she is worried that the little boy will hurt me, knocking me over. The vet said I am in pretty good health for my age with nothing that needs to be treated. I would really like a hospice home who will keep me as long as I have on this earth. PugSavers will pay for my vet bills. Could that be you?

Curly is such a cutie pie and all he wants is a comfy place to spend his remaining days. If you are the forever home that Curly has been waiting for please fill out an application today!

I chose her "Spring"

Want Me Wednesday

Today's want me Wednesday featured pug is Darcy. She is available for adoption through Colorado Pug Rescue. Isn't she just a doll???

Here's what the fine folks at CPR have to say about Darcy:

Darcy is a fine old gal! She is a very gentle well behaved older pug. She is housetrained and never barks. She is quiet and loves to just sit and watch me. she follows me all around the house with her wise old face looking at me! She gets along well with cats, other dogs and kids. I have not tried walking her on a leash but she never runs off when I walk her to the mail box. She travels well in a car and is just an easy girl to take places. The vet thinks she is 8-10 years old. She was left in the humane society's overnight drop and has been nursed back to health. She had a mass removed and is doing great! I would love to see her go to a home with an older person content to sit and love her. Or a couple that travels in an RV. Although she does well with my children she is not a kid dog... she doesn't play fetch or chase a stick. She's a great older dog who has many more happy years ahead..

If you are the forever home that sweet Darcy has been waiting on please fill out an application today.

The Longest Long Weekend EVER!

The title pretty much sums up how I feel about this weekend. It was fun but man, am I ever tired!!!

Friday night I went over to my mom's friend's house who has been to China many many times to get some advice on my trip. She is the founder of Annabelle's Wish - a charity that aids Chinese orphans. We talked for hours and she showed me photos from her trips to the orphanages. It is truly heart breaking to see the conditions these poor children live in. My friends and I are going to be taking boxes of supplies over to mail to the orphanages once we are inside China since the postage is so much more if they are shipped from state side. Please take a minute to check out their website and especially their wish list.

Then on Saturday John and I attended the wedding of some good friends, Shouvik and Anu. I had never been to an Indian Wedding before. It was incredibly beautiful. John took a ton of pics. Here are some of my favorites:

***WARNING - PHOTO OVERLOAD***

Then Sunday I got up bright and early and drove to Jackson to pick up Bart and Barcley for their transport to Nashville. And this is when I discovered that my Jeep was dead :( It seems that it's probably a problem with the battery terminal again, but really, should I need to replace the battery terminals every 4 months?!?! I don't think so!! Thankfully it went dead at home this time and John was here so I was able to use his car.

Then last night we went to the reception for Shouvik and Anu which was also incredibly beautiful. I am so happy for them both. Hopefully we can get together when they return from their honeymoon.

And after we left the reception, we went to yet another wedding reception - this time for one of John's uncles. It was great visiting with his family and the food was wonderful. I wanted to get some pics but by this time we were so tired it was all we could do to sit and eat, LOL!!

So now it is Monday at 12:39pm and I am just now finishing getting caught up on all my online duties. I think I shall lay on the couch for the entire rest of the day!
